Muscular tension from sitting at a desk, driving, or daily life accumulates in the same way as it does for training fatigue. Sports Massage treats the ‘occupational athlete’ as much as the runner, helping to relieve posture-related pain, stiffness, and stress.

What Does Sports Massage Involve?

 

Sports Massage bridges the gap between relaxation and physiotherapy. It is more intense and focused than a relaxation massage.

It involves deep-tissue manipulation, stretching, and other techniques, such as myofascial release, and trigger-point therapy to break down adhesions and flush out metabolic waste.

These help to alleviate post-event soreness, chronic pain, and physical imbalances caused by repetitive activity.

Your initial appointment also includes a consultation and a postural assessment.

 

After your treatment, Claire will give you simple aftercare advice to prolong the benefits of the massage.

 

 

Three-Pillar Approach

 

Claire uses targeted pressure to break down adhesions and tension that restrict mobility. This restores elasticity to your tissues and helps to ‘reset’ your nervous system.

Rather than waiting for something to ‘break’, Claire focuses on a three-pillar approach to body maintenance: Recover, Prepare, Perform:

Cost and Frequency

 

For general maintenance, a monthly visit is recommended. However, addressing specific areas of tension may require more regular sessions to see lasting results.

Cost: Sports and Deep-Tissue Massage – £45 for 45 minutes; £55 for 60 minutes
