Movember is about so much more than moustaches. It is a time to focus on men’s health. Men are still less likely to ask for help or take action when they notice symptoms. Make this the month to bring about change.

Below we spotlight just a few of the therapies on offer to help men take better care of their health and wellbeing.

Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs for Fertility

Male fertility is so often overlooked, with women taking most of the responsibility.

But male fertility is declining rapidly, causing approximately 40% of couples’ difficulty in conceiving.

If a woman gets pregnant and miscarries, hardly anyone checks the sperm, but this can be an issue.

The medical profession doesn’t prioritise testing men and has no treatment to improve sperm quality. They only have intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), which puts their female partner through the invasive regime of IVF.

Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs can offer so much more. Both have been shown to improve male fertility.

Treatment improves your sperm count, vitality, and normal sperm. It also improves your libido.

Jill Glover has also created four unique Chinese herbal prescriptions to help improve different types of male fertility.

Help with Mental Health

Movember focuses on mental health and suicide prevention.

Suicide is rarely the result of a single factor – it often stems from a complex interaction of psychological, social, and biological influences.

Psychotherapy – particularly evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – plays a vital role in suicide prevention.

It provides a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. More importantly, it helps people to develop healthier coping mechanisms and challenge distorted thinking patterns that can contribute to suicidal ideation.

CBT provides help when struggling with mental health in general. It provides practical ways to improve the state of mind on a daily basis to helping the person to deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way.

Massage for Stress, Injury and More

Men are generally more likely to struggle on when in pain, when overwhelmed by stress, when coping with an injury. A recent survey by NHS England revealed that nearly half of men felt they should ‘tough it out’ when it came to potential health issues.

Massage therapy can help with a lot of ailments, including muscle pains, injuries, and more widely with digestive problems, headaches and more.

We offer a range of different massage therapies. These include pairs/couples massages – so if coming along with someone else helps then this might be the treatment for you.

Seeking Help

Make this Movember the time to stop suffering in silence. Take charge of – or encourage the man in your life to do so – to give their health and wellbeing the attention they need to lead a happier and more fulfilled life.
