What is an Aromatherapy Massage?

Essential oils used in an Aromatherapy Massage are made from pure plant extracts. These are absorbed through the skin during massage to promote your physical, psychological and spiritual wellbeing.

The essential oils are derived from various parts of plants such as flowers, leaves, bark, and roots from the world over. They are highly aromatic and their scent contributes to their natural healing properties.

Their aroma has a deep therapeutic effect on the limbic system, the part of the brain responsible for emotions and memories.

What Can Aromatherapy Massage Help With?

  • Stress-related conditions
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Fatigue and tiredness
  • Chronic pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Muscle aches and pains
  • Menstrual pain and irregularities
  • Skin conditions
  • Circulatory problems
  • Respiratory Infections
  • Gastrointestinal discomfort

What Will My Appointment Involve?

After an initial consultation to look at the reasons for having the treatment, lifestyle and any relevant history, Rowan will make up a blend of oils suitable for you to use in your massage.

You will be offered a full body massage involving different massage techniques. The focus will be on the oils so it can be a lighter type of massage than a holistic massage.

During your massage, the aromatic molecules will benefit your body through being inhaled and absorbed into your blood stream.

So lie back and enjoy – and experience a boost to your physical, psychological and spiritual wellbeing.
