Lindsay Chavasse

Lindsay Chavasse has always been fascinated by the science of psychology. She is interested in how we can ‘change our minds’ and move on from crisis, and how we can make sense of difficulty in our lives so that we grow and develop rather than live in despair. We often need a period of help and support while we do this, which integrative counselling and CBT provides.

Lindsay began her career in investment banking, working in London and then Australia. About 15 years ago, she started working with the Women’s Refuge in North Devon. This led her to undertake her studies, so she could offer therapy to women and their families in the refuge who had been impacted by domestic and sexual violence.

She then spent a year as a counsellor working with students at Plymouth University. This gave her a particular interest in working with young people, given how poor mental health was becoming an increasingly prevalent issue for this age group.

Lindsay helps clients with a variety of issues they find challenging. These include trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders and other forms of self-harm, stress and addiction.

Her aim is always to provide clients a safe place to talk through difficulties and find solutions, as well as ways of managing life should they reoccur. She works with you to cultivate change, helping you to find clarity and create a path for personal growth and positive wellbeing.

Lindsay is a senior accredited member of the ACCPH.

“Lindsay has been amazingly helpful with my journey over the last year. I have gained a huge amount of insight and numerous coping strategies which I will take forward with me in my day-to-day life. Undoubtedly, the best experience I have had with a therapist and I would not hesitate to recommend her.” IS

“I would highly recommend Lindsay and her practice to anyone. She is such a friendly and welcoming person, making me feel very comfortable to talk to her. I always felt so positive after every session and the whole process was effortless and easy. One of the best things I have ever done for myself, and couldn’t have done it without Lindsay. I cannot recommend her enough – she was brilliant.” CO
