Accunect Therapy
Accunect Therapy is an innovative holistic healthcare system developed by Future Medicine Today. It is based on the understanding that physical symptoms may be influenced by imbalances in your body’s energetic, emotional, neurological, and physiological systems.
Using a unique Connect, Map and Balance process, each session follows the priorities of your body rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. By identifying and addressing these priorities, Accunect aims to support your body’s innate ability to restore balance and wellbeing. It helps you to reconnect with your body’s natural capacity for healing.
What is Accunect based upon?
Accunect draws on both ancient wisdom and modern understanding of the body’s interconnected systems. It combines concepts from Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional Acupuncture Theory, cognitive behavioural approaches, modern neuroscience knowledge and tapping techniques.
It is based on the understanding that physical symptoms may be influenced by energetic, emotional, neurological, and physiological imbalances.
How does it work?
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, Accunect helps your practitioner to look for the underlying priorities that may be preventing your body from functioning at its best.
Using a gentle Connect, Map and Balance process, Accunect works with the body’s own feedback to identify these priorities and support the body’s natural ability to regulate, adapt, and restore balance. Every session is unique, as the body determines what it is ready to address at that time.
What do the different elements of Accunect involve?
- Connect, Map and Balance is a personalised three-step process that connects with your body’s feedback. It uses the Health Map™ to identify the areas your body prioritises, and then balances those areas using gentle techniques tailored to you.
- Gentle biofeedback technique is a non-invasive technique used to identify your body’s priorities through subtle changes in muscle response. This helps to guide your session rather than relying solely on the symptoms you describe.
- Light gentle tapping is used at specific points during the balancing process to help reinforce and integrate the areas being addressed.
What concepts and theories does it draw upon?
Accunect draws on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including the concept that health depends on balance and the harmonious flow of energy throughout the body.
It incorporates acupuncture theory by working with the body’s meridian system and the relationships between different areas of the body, without the use of needles.
Accunect recognises the connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physical wellbeing. As such, it incorporates cognitive behavioural approaches that can help bring awareness to patterns that may influence how we experience and respond to life.
It also incorporates modern neuroscience knowledge of the brain and nervous system, by recognising their important role in regulating our responses to stress, emotions, sensory information and changes within the body.

What can I expect from my first session?
Your first appointment begins with a relaxed conversation about your health history, current concerns, and what you would like support with. This helps your practitioner to build a picture of your overall wellbeing and provides the foundation for your personalised session.
You remain fully clothed throughout the treatment. Using the Accunect Connect, Map and Balance process, together with gentle biofeedback and light tapping techniques, your practitioner identifies the priorities your body is ready to address. Every session is unique and follows your body’s own guidance, rather than a predetermined treatment plan.
The tapping techniques are used to help integrate and reinforce the balancing process, supporting communication between the brain, nervous system, and the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Most people find sessions deeply relaxing, often leaving with a greater sense of calm, clarity, and balance.
What will subsequent sessions involve?
As every person is different, each session builds on the last, supporting your body’s natural ability to adapt, restore balance, and move towards optimal wellbeing.
Every session is as unique as you are.
What can I expect after the session?
Many clients describe a session as feeling like pressing the reset button. When our bodies become overwhelmed by physical, emotional or environmental stress, they can lose their natural balance.
Accunect aims to help your body ‘reset’, allowing it to function more efficiently and restore its natural resilience.
Are there any common misconceptions?
One of the biggest misconceptions is that everyone with the same symptoms needs the same treatment.
Accunect is based on the understanding that every person’s health story is unique. Two people may experience the same symptom for completely different reasons, which is why each session follows the priorities of the individual rather than a standard treatment protocol.
Another common misconception is that you need to understand or believe in how Accunect works for it to be beneficial. Many clients come with an open mind and simply want to explore a different approach to supporting their health and wellbeing.
Accunect is not intended to replace conventional medical care. It is a complementary approach that many people choose alongside their existing healthcare to support their overall wellbeing and natural capacity for balance and healing.
Who is it suitable for?
Accunect is a gentle, non-invasive treatment. There are no needles, and you remain fully clothed throughout the session. The balancing process uses light touch and gentle tapping techniques, making it suitable for people of all ages.
The focus is on providing a safe, welcoming, and supportive space where you can relax, feel heard, and explore a different approach to your health and wellbeing.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies from person to person and depends on your individual health goals and circumstances. Some people notice positive changes after their first session, while others benefit from a series of treatments as their body works through its own priorities.
During your appointment, your practitioner will discuss with you your progress so you can decide together what feels right for you. Rather than following a fixed treatment plan, each session builds on the last and is guided by what your body is ready to address at that time.
