Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy applies nutritional science to promote health and wellbeing. We offer nutritional therapy to specifically support Women’s health.

Are you struggling with hormone imbalance, vaginal health or urinary complications? Nutritional therapy can offer advice and tools to manage symptoms more comfortably. A healthy, balanced diet, exercise, sleep quality and stress reduction can all help to reduce symptoms of hormone imbalance, such as PMS, fertility and menopausal symptoms. Using nutrition therapeutically can support urinary tract integrity, immune function and symptom relief.

Following your consultation, you will be provided with a therapy plan with food, supplement and lifestyle recommendations to give your body the building blocks it needs to re-establish balance, comfort and health.

As a recognised complementary medicine, Nutritional Therapy can support the health of individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking to enhance their health and wellbeing.

How does Nutritional Therapy work?
Nutritional Therapy uses a range of tools to identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to your symptoms or health concerns. You are then given personalised nutrition and lifestyle protocols tailored to your individual needs.
What conditions can Nutritional Therapy help with?

A range of health conditions, including:

  • Hormonal Complications and Diagnoses such as Acne, PCOS, Endometriosis, PMDD, Adenomyosis, Fibroids
  • PMS
  • Fertility: Pre-conception, Pregnancy, During IVF, Post-partum
  • Menopause
  • Vaginal Health Complications
  • Urinary Health Complications, including infections and Interstitial Cystitis
What will a session involve?

Your first appointment will include a comprehensive health history assessment to identify times in your life that may have contributed to a state of ill health or a general feeling of less than optimal health. It will explore which of your body systems may be under stress and how this could be impacting your health. Where appropriate, additional laboratory testing might be recommended to delve deeper into the assessment of your health, including such conditions as acne, endometriosis and PCOS. It can also provide information around hormone metabolism, gut issues and the vaginal environment.

Do I need to do anything before my appointment?

Before the initial consultation you will be sent a pre-appointment questionnaire and a 7-day diet diary to fill out.

What happens after my appointment?

After the consultation, your nutritional therapist will evaluate all of the information from your consultation. You will then be sent an individualised food and lifestyle plan based on an extensive evidence base of nutritional science and to meet your personal needs. This is likely to include some natural supplement recommendations, in order to boost specific areas of your health initially and will be revised at your follow up consultation. The plan will be presented to you via email within 2 weeks.

Will I then need a follow-up appointment?
Follow up consultations are generally recommended 6 weeks after the diet and lifestyle plan has been implemented. During the follow up consultation, your Nutritional Therapist will consider the progress that has been made and adjust the plan where needed. Nutritional therapy is not a quick fix but more of a health journey and the number of follow ups required will depend on each individual circumstance.
How much does it cost?

Initial consultation £130

Follow-up consultation £75
