Dr Elizabeth Banwell

Dr Elizabeth Banwell works as a Clinical Psychologist within the NHS and has also developed her own independent practice. She has worked within the NHS, charity and private sectors for over ten years, working with children, families, adults and groups to help optimise their overall wellbeing. Elizabeth currently works with adults who may be experiencing a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, worry, difficulty sleeping and difficulty with motivation or making changes.

Elizabeth has a BSc in Psychology and has completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), which is the professional training required in order to register and practice as a clinical psychologist. She is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and is a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Elizabeth Banwell specialises in the field of Clinical Health Psychology, working with adults with long term physical health conditions which have caused them to experience difficulties including, but not limited to: adjusting to living with their health condition; also, feeling worried or uncertain, and/or experiencing low mood regarding the condition.

She draws upon a number of evidence based therapeutic techniques, including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Narrative Therapy; Motivational Interviewing; and Compassion Focused Therapy.

When not working, Elizabeth enjoys being in the countryside, going for walks and bike rides, and exploring the galleries and restaurants of Bristol.

Availability & Fees

Wednesdays 6:00pm to 9:00pm

£100 for 50 minutes
