Reiki

The Japanese word ‘Reiki’ means ‘Universal Energy’. Reiki is a Japanese treatment, developed in the early 20th century that consists of gentle energy work that is aimed to activate the body’s natural healing process. It is often used for stress reduction and relaxation and helps to restore the body’s natural balance.

Reiki is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

What are the benefits of Reiki?
  • A pain-free treatment, safe for those of all ages and conditions
  • Relieves physical pain for long-term and short-term injuries
  • Reduces muscular soreness
  • Deep relaxation
  • Can work alongside traditional healthcare and other complementary therapies
What can I expect from a session?
Reiki is usually administered while you are sitting or lying down comfortably. The practitioner will then place hands gently on or over your body, without massage or manipulation. The treatment is pain-free and doesn’t require the removal of any clothing.

Before Reiki the practitioner will take time to discuss your needs and preferences before administering treatment

How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your situation. A one-off session can make a difference, but in some cases you and your practitioner may decide a series of sessions would work more effectively. A treatment plan is different for each individual.
How much does it cost?
