Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is a touch-based massage therapy involving the controlled use of essential oils to maintain and promote physical, psychological and spiritual wellbeing.
Essential oils are derived from various parts of plants such as flowers, leaves, bark, and roots from the world over. Each has its unique composition of natural biochemicals. They are highly aromatic and their scent makes a vital contribution to it’s natural healing properties. Their aroma has a deep therapeutic effect on the limbic system, the part of the brain responsible for emotions and memories.
After a detailed consultation essential oils are selected for your individual needs and blended for your treatment.
How do the oils work?
During the massage the aromatic molecules affect the body through their inhalation and through their absorption into the blood stream. This is combined with various massage techniques tailored to create a relaxing, sedative or energising massage.
